It’s So Embarrassing!
Jersey City
May 9, 2025
Hi there!
Remember those embarrassing moments when you were going through puberty? You were growing hair and not just on your head? Maybe your gym clothes were tight and uncomfortable because you suddenly had breasts? Or maybe you didn’t have breasts, but all your girlfriends did? It was embarrassing! And the worst thing was – you didn’t understand what was happening!
Fast forward and now you’re in perimenopause and once again your body is behaving in ways that are strange. You may be experiencing any number of symptoms that are either annoying or confusing or embarrassing.
Pain during intimacy and incontinence are both embarrassing. Why is this suddenly happening? Who do you talk to about it? Is this normal?
Let’s be clear that these are symptoms of menopause, and they are totally normal. They begin in perimenopause and are caused by a decrease in estrogen.
The good news is that there is a solution for both these conditions - Pelvic Floor PT!
Find out what Pelvic Floor PT is and how it works at the next JC Menopause Meet Up.
Our guest speaker is Jessica Swisher. She’s a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic floor pt. She will explain what pelvic floor pt is and how it can help with pelvic pain and incontinence.
She’ll answer any questions you have. Our Meet Up is a safe space to ask questions, even the most intimate ones. We meet on Tuesday May 13th at 6:30pm. For more information and registration click here. It is FREE!
Looking forward to seeing you on May 13th!
Be well,
Laura

· There is so much talk about how much protein we all need. I think we’re probably getting enough but if you’re curious use this calculator. I like the visuals. The American Heart Association recommends 0.36 grams of protein per body weight.
