Chicken Nuggets with Honey Dipping Sauce

These aren’t your McDonald’s chicken nuggets! These are nuggets you can snack on or feed your kiddos and not feel guilty. Eating well is not about depriving yourself of the food you love. It’s about making better choices and substituting. These are easy enough to whip up so give them a try and let me know what you think in the comments. If you have another favorite dipping sauce, go for it!

Serves 4 and takes about 25 minutes to make.

Ingredients:

4 oz unbleached four

2 large eggs

½ cup of breadcrumbs

1-pound boneless chicken breast cubed

Salt & pepper

For dipping sauce

½ cup of mayonnaise

¼ cup of yellow mustard

2 tbsp Dijon mustard

2 tbsp raw honey

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Add the flour, salt, and pepper to one bowl. Then put the mixture on a plate.

  3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs.

  4. Put the breadcrumbs on a plate.

  5. First dredge the chicken nuggets in the flour and shake off any excess.

  6. Coat each nugget in the egg mixture, then transfer to the bread crumbs and coat well.

  7. Arrange the chicken nuggets on the baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until cooked through.

To make dipping sauce

Stir together the mayonnaise, yellow mustard, Dijon, and honey in a bowl. Serve alongside the chicken nuggets and enjoy!
