Swedish massage uses a combination of strokes to access the muscles of the body. This massage may be gentle and relaxing or more vigorous with the intent to alleviate muscular discomfort. Either way, it relieves tension, calms the nervous system, and reduces stress. This is my signature massage. It is tailored to meet your needs. It may also include the use of heat or cold. I generally include some energy work for balance.

This is a time when big changes are happening, both physically and emotionally. Massage can help support you during this very special time by relieving many common discomforts and allowing you time to relax and focus on you and your baby. My main concern is that you are comfortable and safe. Positioning is very important. I use the Body Support System, wedges and pillows. This allows you the maximum comfort wherever you are in your pregnancy. Many doctors recommend massage during pregnancy. It is one of the best things you can do for yourself when you are expecting.

This is a private class that teaches partners how to massage the pregnant woman in their life. You will learn strokes that will eliminate many of the discomforts of pregnancy. Contraindications to massage are also taught. In addition to learning the strokes, you will learn how to safely position and support your partner during massage. What you learn in this course is beneficial not only during pregnancy, but also during labor and long after the baby is born. Learn pregnancy massage and become involved in the miracle of birth.

What may seem like pure indulgence also works deep into the muscles. This is a synthesis of Swedish massage and heat. Hot stones are placed along the spine and chakras. They are then used to massage tired achy muscles. The combination of the weight of the stones and the heat takes you to a new level of relaxation. The temperature of the stones is comfortably warm.

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a very gentle technique that removes toxins, excess fluids, and proteins from the tissues in the body. It is used to reduce swelling and to encourage the movement of lymph. Although it promotes relaxation, it is primarily used post-surgically to reduce swelling and encourage healing. It is used in the treatment of lymphedema.
